HARTFORD —  State Representative Mike Alberts (R-Woodstock) was sworn in last week for his fourth term representing the 50th District covering Brooklyn, Eastford, Hampton, Pomfret and Woodstock in the Connecticut General Assembly. He was elevated to Ranking Member of the Banks Committee. He was also assigned to the Insurance and Real Estate Committee, and the Higher Education and Employment Advancement Committee.
Alberts’ background of more than 20 years in financial services made his promotion to Ranking Member on the Banking Committee a natural fit. Currently he is vice president of Commercial Lending for Simsbury Bank. He looks forward to bringing his experience and fresh ideas to the Banking Committee. Alberts is committed to policies that will encourage recovery within Connecticut’s struggling financial sector and bring jobs back to the state.
“In this new session, we have the opportunity to make positive changes in the way we govern and lead the State of Connecticut. With a projected $3 billion deficit, it won’t be an easy task, but I’m ready to work with other lawmakers and the new Governor’s administration to offer sound solutions to the problems we face as a state,” said Alberts.
He can be reached at 1-800-842-1423.
