PUTNAM — Archambault Insurance Associates completed its merger with Leschke-Puffer Insurance Agency to create the new Archambault Insurance Center on Providence Street. The merger brings together two of northeast Connecticut’s oldest family-owned businesses and creates a better, stronger insurance agency with more choices for their clients.
The merger of the two companies was first announced in June, 2010. The completion of the merger streamlines operations by relocating  the Leschke-Puffer office on Main Street to the new Archambault Insurance Center at 143 Providence St.  The new center, consisting of the current Archambault Insurance Associates building and the stone building behind it, now houses the company’s personal, commercial, life and health insurance departments all in one centralized location.  The Archambault Insurance Associates office on Main Street in Danielson is also in full operation.
In addition, Archambault Insurance has launched a new and improved website, www.ArchambaultIns.com, which provides new on-line capabilities such as 24-hour quotes for home, auto, umbrella, and life insurance.
“We knew that joining Leschke-Puffer and Archambault Insurance into one company made a lot of sense. It was a perfect fit,” said Marc Archambault, president of Archambault Insurance.  “Both our agencies have deep roots in the community. We’re just better together.”
“The big, generic insurance companies have flashy television ads, but we offer a family-style way of doing business right here in northeast Connecticut,” said Charles Puffer, now a member of the Archambault Insurance team. “The personal service we provide does not cost more than the impersonal service you’ll get from the national insurance brands, and now we offer improved product offerings and cost efficiencies by working together.”
Archambault Insurance Associates, an independent, family-owned, full-service agency established in 1928 by Joseph A. Archambault, is now in its third generation of local ownership. Leschke-Puffer, also a family-owned, independent agency, was founded in 1955 and has roots back to 1868. The newly combined agency has a staff of 18 insurance professionals serving more than 5,000 individual and family clients and 750 commercial businesses in northeastern Connecticut.
