PUTNAM —  Desmond Williams’ 25 points, nine rebounds, four steals, three assists and two blocks sparked PSA over Boston Trinity 92-77 last week.
The win was just what the Mustangs needed after dropping two close games in a row. Freshman Tyree Robinson also sparked the Mustangs with 18 points and 18 rebounds. Zaquan Nelson added seven points and 8 assists, and Anthony Henry scored 17 for the 8-4 Scientists. 
“We needed this game very much,” said Mustangs coach Tom Espinosa. “I hope this solid win can give us back our confidence and we start playing like we were earlier in the year.” 
Jan. 21 Desmond Williams led all scorers with 19 points and added nine rebounds and five assists to lead the Putnam Science Academy boys’ basketball team over Lee Academy of Maine, 64-57, at Marianapolis Prep.  Lee came into the game as a huge favorite but the Mustangs were ready to battle from the tip. “Big time win today,” said coach Tom Espinosa.
“We came to play today against a big time team.  We shot the ball good and we battled on the boards.” Wilson Arob added 11 points and 11 rebounds for the Mustangs (9-4), and Zaquan Nelson contributed 13 points, five assists and three steals.
