Notice of Filing
On January 31, 2011, Putnam Green Power, LLC, 58 Pomfret Street, Putnam, CT 06260 filed an application with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission for a 1-megawatt exemption for the proposed small Hydroelectric Project (FERC # P-13080) to be located at the Quinebaug River, Town of Putnam, Windham County, Connecticut. The application is available for public inspection at the Putnam Town Library. Any request for additional scientific studies must be filed with the Commission by April 1, 2011. The Commission will issue subsequent notices soliciting public participation once the application is found acceptable for filing.

The Town of Putnam Zoning Board of Appeals held a meeting on February 15, 2011 at 7:00 P.M. at the Town Hall located at 126 Church Street, Putnam, CT.  The following action was taken:
Appeal # 2011-001 Charles H. Englert — Request for variances to Sections 720 for general automotive sales and repairs in an Industrial Zone, Section 908 (5) minimum setback from the street line from the required 75’ to 30’  (for parking/display only) and minimum side yard from the required 50’ to approximately 40’ (for parking/display only) of the Town Putnam Zoning Regulations.  The applicant is also requesting a Certificate of Approval of Location for automotive (used) and repairs pursuant to Section 910 (2) of the Town of Putnam Zoning Regulations and Section 14-53 of the State of Connecticut General Statutes.  Property located at 201 Park Road, Town Assessor’s Map 45, Lot 37, Zoned Industrial.  APPROVED WITH CONDITIONS.

Docket # 2010-17:  53 Prospect Street, LLC — Request for an amendment to Section 720 Schedule of Uses and District of the Town of Putnam Zoning Regulations to allow multi-family dwellings by Special Exception in R-7, R-10, R-20, C-1 and C-2 Zones.  NOT APPROVED.
