PUTNAM --- James Wolnar, president of Putnam Home Medical, celebrated the firm's grand opening last week, promising to offer good products and good service, as well as honesty and professionalism to the Quiet Corner.
The company is an expansion of Medical Pharmacy, a long-standing medical business in Willimantic.
Russ Dexter, operations manager, said the said that Wolnar is committed to patients and to the community. "There is nothing else like it in northeastern Connecticut," he added. With Putnam Home Medical, on Kennedy Drive, added to the Medical Pharmacy roster, patients from Thompson all the way to Old Saybrook are now covered 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The new company "provides home medical equipment and supplies plus respiratory equipment an services as well as clinical services," Dexter added.
Karen Osbrey, president of the Putnam Business Association, said, “The Putnam Business Association is very happy to welcome Putnam Home Medical to our town.   I’m sure they will be a valuable addition to our business community.“
Jay Sinha, president of the Northeastern Connecticut Chamber of Commerce, said, “On behalf of the Northeastern Connecticut Chamber of Commerce, I would like to welcome them to our family of businesses. In this downturn economy, when small business failure appears to be a norm, expansion by this Willimantic-based company into Putnam is certainly a very positive addition.”
