THOMPSON --- Joy Richmond of Woodstock, a senior at Marianapolis Preparatory School has been named a National Merit Finalist for her scores on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. Richmond is among approximately 15,000 finalists from which all National Merit Scholarship winners will be chosen based on their skills, accomplishments and potential for success in rigorous college studies.
Headmistress Marilyn S. Ebbitt said, “It is always a proud day for our faculty, families and school when a student is recognized nationally. I am proud of Joy’s accomplishments in the classroom, and beyond, and look forward to following her achievements as she graduates this school year.”
