DANIELSON --- The NE CT Cultural Strategic Planning Forum will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. March 30 at QVCC. All are welcome. Please RSVP by  March 28.
Recommendations from the 2010 Northeast Connecticut Arts & Cultural Assessment are leading the direction in the Strategic Planning Phase II of forming a Regional Cultural Service Alliance. With recommendations from the Phase I Arts & Cultural Assessment, the objectives for Phase II have been solidified and will move forward with the support of the Connecticut Commission on Culture and Tourism.
Cultural leaders are moving forward in Phase II with a logistical model to form an organization which will represent the 12 towns of the Northeast Connecticut Council of Governments: Ashford, Brooklyn Canterbury, Eastford, Killingly, Plainfield, Pomfret, Putnam, Sterling, Thompson, Union and Woodstock. A cultural organization to represent all sectors will give focus and direction to communicate more effectively, raise awareness of events and help individuals, organizations and businesses rise to a new stage of development, service and economic growth within the communities.
This will be an informative and strategic planning event with great networking opportunities for all sectors involved. This is your opportunity to be a part of the groundwork for this initiative to form an organization that will represent all artists, musicians, performing artists, literary, graphic and other designers, cultural organizations, educators, businesses and enthusiasts who drive the creative economy in NE CT. Your input continues to be needed and your creative ideas, support and efforts will help to spark initiatives that can lead to new collaborations in the formation of the organization.
