GORHAM, Maine — Junior Amanda Quinones of Trumbull shattered  the Eastern Connecticut State University record at 3000 meters and was among four indivduals to attain all-conference recognition in February at the Little East Conference/New England Alliance women’s track and field championships at the Costello Athletic Complex on the University of Southern Maine campus. 
A Putnam resident, Lauren Hultzman, scored well in the meet.
A two-time All-New England Alliance achiever in cross country, Quinones earned All-LEC and All-NEA honors with a third-place finish in both tabulations with a time of record-setting tiime of 10:44.20 at 3000 meters that also qualified her for ECAC competition.
She broke the  three-year-old record by over 18 seconds. In a field of 27, Quinones placed just more than a second out of second place and 12 seconds behind the winner.
Earning All-NEA honors along with Quinones  with eighth-place finishes or better were sophomore Cora Gingras (East Hampton) and freshmen Amy Huhn (Hebron) and Lauren Hultzman (Putnam). In the high jump, Hultzman tied for fifth place (4-11 3/4) and Gingras was eighth (4-10 1/4). Huhn was fifth in the pole vault (9-0 1/2).  Eastern was fifth among six teams in the LEC scoring with 28 points and ninth in 10-team NEA field with 20 1/2 points. Host Southern Maine won its 11th straight LEC title and 12th in 13 years and 11th straight NEA championship (11th in 14 years).
