WILLIMANTIC --- Janice Franklin '12 of Putnam, attended Eastern Connecticut State University's Early Childhood Investigations Conference recently. The conference theme was "Using Projects to Foster Children's Cognitive Development." Visitors from across the state of Connecticut attended the day-long conference, which was co-hosted by the Center for Early Childhood Education and the Child and Family Development Resource Center.

Graduates
WILLIMANTIC --- Eastern Connecticut State University's 122nd Commencement May 15, 2012, saw the following local graduates: Lisa Morton of Pomfret Center, graduated with a master's degree in Reading/Language Arts; Jessi Robey of Putnam, graduated with a master's degree in Early Childhood Education.

Inducted
WILLIMANTIC --- Twelve Eastern Connecticut State University students were inducted into the Phi Alpha Social Work Honor Society including Daniel Lombardi '13 of Woodstock. He is majoring in social work. The social work major provides students with the knowledge, values and skills necessary for beginning generalist social work practice. The major combines a liberal arts perspective with professional social work education in the classroom and in field settings throughout Eastern Connecticut.
