Witness for Prosecution

PUTNAM --- The Theatre of Northeastern Connecticut at the Bradley Playhouse will present Agatha Christie’s suspenseful drama "Witness for the Prosecution" at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 5, 6, 12, 13, 19 and 20 and at 2 p.m. Oct. 7, 14 and 21. Tickets are $17 for adults and $14 for seniors and students.
Reservations may be made with a major credit card online at www.thebradleyplayhouse.org or by calling 928-7887. Tickets are available at Wonderland Books and Victoria Station Café, both in Putnam and at the door, but patrons are encouraged to make reservations. All seating is general admission.
Set in 1952, the play finds Leonard Vole arrested and questioned for the murder of his elderly friend Emily French. Vole claims to have been at home with his wife Romaine on the night of the murder, but when she acts as a witness for the prosecution – things turn from bad to worse! Can his barrister, Sir Wilfrid Robarts defend Vole and unravel the increasingly complex relationships at the heart of this mystery when it goes to trial at the infamous Old Bailey?
The TNECT production of Witness for the Prosecution is directed by British born Carol Alderson, who is assisted by Paul Neuhardt. The cast includes Joshua Fontaine as the accused Leonard Vole and Rick Skog as Mr. Mayhew, the defense counsel. Sir Wilfred Robarts is played by David Hopcroft and Michele Rogers appears as Vole’s wife Romaine. Other cast members are: James Bronwell, Sheila Harrington-Hughes, Seana Hendrickson, Robert Latino, Benjamin Lawver, Nicole Marchand, Craig Mortensen, Erik Peterson, Christopher Ruta, Roy Simmons and Sharon Starr.
