PUTNAM — Ashley Larrow, Putnam Middle School art teacher, received the Leadership Award by Artsonia for outstanding leadership in arts education. According to Artsonia’s website, Putnam’s online art gallery ranks fifth in Connecticut.
The award is given to honor teachers who go beyond the classroom walls to encourage family and community involvement in arts education. During the 2011-2012 school year, the Putnam Middle School gallery showcased 2009 pieces of artwork.
