Carl F. Cayen,

DANIELSON — Carl F. Cayen, 74, of Danielson, died Sept. 28, 2012, at the Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam. Born Aug. 8, 1938, in Putnam, son of the late Francis and Jane (Cloutier) Cayen.
He was 1956 graduate of Killingly High, attended University of Rhode Island and graduated from Thames Tech. He worked at Rogers Corporation most of his life and Metals Testing in S. Windsor.
He loved music, especially Jazz and Blues.
He was an accomplished sax player and played in local bands, Ernie Briere’s Band and the Misty Blues.
He was a lifetime member of the Danielson Elks Lodge #1706 and a Brother of Knights of Columbus Council 2883, Danielson.
He leaves his daughters, Carlene Sabourin of Danielson, Christine Credit of Pomfret Center, Carla Cayen-de Jong of Eindhoven, Netherlands, three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
The Mass of Christian Burial was Oct. 5 at St. James Church, Danielson, with Burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Danielson. Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds St., Danielson.
Alice St. Onge,

PUTNAM — Alice St. Onge, 71, of East Putnam Road, died Oct. 2, 2012, in St. Francis Hospital in Hartford. She was the wife of the late Robert R. St. Onge. Born in 1941 in Haure de Grace, Md., she was the daughter of the late Vesta (Baldwin) Gibson and Russell Gibson.
Alice worked for American Optical. She was also a bookkeeper for Eastern Connecticut Parent Children Resource Center, and a cleaner at the Children’s Center in Woodstock. Alice volunteered at Project Northeast and at Adoration Chapel at St. Mary. She enjoyed baking, playing cards, and “donating” her money to Foxwoods.
She leaves her daughter Claudette Stockwell (David) of Woodstock; and her granddaughter Lillian Mae Mandeville.
The Mass of Christian Burial was Oct. 8 in St. Mary Church, Putnam. Donations: The college education fund that Alice’s late husband Bob set up for their granddaughter, Lillian, before his death. Matthew Farrell Jr.,

MOOSUP — Matthew R. Farrell Jr., 36, of Moosup, died Sept. 14, 2012. He was born Dec. 10, 1975, in Putnam. He enjoyed woodworking, remodeling and building, and he was his family’s handyman. He had received his Commercial Driver’s License to drive truck.
He leaves his mom Darlene (Deloge) Verraneault; dad Matthew Farrell Sr.; daughter Destinee Farrell; sister Danielle Verraneault; brother Christopher Verraneault;’ sister Amber Marie Farrell.
There was a benefit/celebration of his life Oct. 6 at the Music Lady, Central Village.
Eleanor Dauphinais,

DAYVILLE —Eleanor Dauphinais, 91, of Dayville, died Oct. 2, 2012, at Day Kimball Hospital.
She was born Sept. 19, 1921, in Grand Rapids, Minn., daughter of the late Henry and Rose Anna (Peloquin) Hisoire. She was the wife of the late Roland Dauphinais. She completed high school in Southbridge, and then moved to Danielson with her parents, following which she married and had one daughter, Arlene Jordan.
During the war she did piece work on aircraft parts, post war she worked in the textile industry and eventually replaced her mother at the St. James Cafeteria as manager. Following retirement she volunteered 4000-plus hours at Day Kimball Hospital. She had a love for family especially small children and animals and enjoyed crocheting, reading, gardening and collecting stamps.
She leaves one daughter, Arlene Jordan (Robert); nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service was Oct. 6 in Tillinghast Funeral Home, Danielson. Donations: Hospice of NE CT, P.O. Box 632, Putnam, CT 06260; or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Theresa Desilets
DAYVILLE — Theresa Desilets, 66, of Dayville, died Oct. 4, 2012, at the Regency Heights Health Care in Danielson after a long illness.
She was born Oct. 3, 1946, in Putnam, daughter of the late Wesley and Nellie (Livernoche) Desilets.
She made her home in Attawaugan, Rogers and Dayville and was a graduate of Killingly High School. Theresa was a medical assistant for Dr. Kulbeck. She was employed for 30 years at Superwinch in Putnam as an assembler. Theresa had a great love for cooking, crafts and cats. She enjoyed trying new recipes and baking pies. Her holiday baking was well-known. She played bingo for many years at St. Anne’s in Ballouville. She organized St. Anne’s successful Flea Market for 10 years. She was the treasurer for the St. Ignatius Rosary Society for over 30 years.
She leaves her brother, Louis Beauvais (JoAnne) of Dayville; two nephews Ed Beauvais (Jen) of Hopkinton, Mass., Charles Beauvais (Sara) of Maynard, Mass., and a niece Marianne Beauvais of Jamaica Plain, Mass.; great niece and nephews, Kate, and twins Matthew and Marc, all of Hopkinton.

N. GROSVENORDALE — Josephine (Kruzel) Duquette, 91, of Klondike Street, died Oct. 4, 2012, in Day Kimball Hospital. She was the wife of Arthur Duquette for 65 years. Born in 1921 in Webster, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Anne (Czechowski) Kruzel
Mrs. Duquette worked as a stitcher for Bates Shoe.
She loved to cook, tend to her flower garden, sewing, dance the polka, and playing cards. Josie and Arthur would spend time at the Valley Springs Sportsman’s Club with her friends and family where Arthur was a charter member. She was also a communicant of St. Joseph Church in N. Grosvenordale.
In addition to her husband, Josie leaves sons, Ronald Duquette (Susan), David Duquette and his friend Barbara Hart, Paul Duquette (Brenda); grandchildren, Kevin (Misty), Ryan, Alan, Danielle, Nicole, and Stephanie; her great-grandchildren, Emmalena, and Bently. She was predeceased by her brothers, Anthony, Stanley, and Raymond Kruzel; and her sisters, Theresa Morneau, and Rose Bourque. The Mass of Christian Burial was Oct. 8 in St. Joseph Church, N. Emile J. Heon
DANIELSON — Emile J. Heon, 85, of Danielson, died unexpectedly Oct. 3, 2012, at home. He was born Sept. 10, 1927, in Killingly, son of the late Peter and Anna (Auger) Heon. Emile was enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He worked at Rogers Corporation as a machinist. Emile loved to go fishing. He enjoyed building model boats and making wine.
He leaves a daughter, Diane Holowaty of Danielson; grandsons; Kevin Holowaty, Brian Holowaty and Adam Heon (Jennie); a sister, Alice Desilets (Lucien); brother, Peter Heon (Peggy). He was predeceased by a son David Heon who died in 2002, a stepsister: Yvonne Savard and a stepbrother, Joseph Heon. The Funeral will be at 6 p.m. Oct. 10 at the Gagnon and Costello Funeral Home, 33 Reynolds St., Danielson. A Calling Hour will be Wednesday from 5 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

N. GROSVENORDALE — Florence (Morin) LaRoche, 92, of Buckley Hill Road died Oct. 2, 2012, in Regency Heights of Danielson. She was the wife of the late Joseph LaRoche for 68 years. Born in 1920 in N. Grosvenordale, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Alice (Fournier) Morin. Mrs. LaRoche worked in textiles for Cluett & Peabody, and then for Bates Shoe Co. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Church.
She leaves her son, Donat J. LaRoche of N. Grosvenordale; brother, Leo Robert Morin of Putnam; sister, Lucille Gilbert of Watkinsville, Ga.; grandchildren, Dawn Hunton, Bryan LaRoche, and Lisa Mendes and great-grandchildren, Rebecca, Justin, James, and Cole; and her great-great-grandchildren, Makayla and Dylan. She is predeceased by her sisters, Jeannette Ducharme, and Rita Marquis; and her grandson, Joseph LaRoche.
