PUTNAM --- With First Friday coming Nov. 2, the Main Street merchants decided to expand on First Friday by inviting all the attendees to come in and enjoy the shops as well as the festival.
Each store has a giveaway, in-store specials and events to make their First Friday experience more fun.
After collecting all the giveaways, visitors can enter to win a gift certificate to use in any of the participating stores. Merchants said they hope to expand on this idea by involving the Main Street eateries. In November's "Attack," shoppers will collect brightly colored bracelets. Each store will have a different color, and once all the colors are collected they get to enter a drawing to win a gift certificate that can be used in any participating shops. Upcoming shopping attacks planned include a Mystery Tour, a Round Robin and a Scavenger Hunt.
