WOODSTOCK --- The Woodstock Athletic Department announced that Junior Guard #11 Chris Lowry from the boys’ basketball team has been named Sweet Evalina’s Athlete of the Week recently.
In the Centaurs opening night victory over Ellington High School Lowry had 16 points, 8 assists, and 8 rebounds. Against New London, he had 15 points, 9 assists, and only 2 turnovers. More importantly than the numbers, Lowry is a coach on the floor and one of the leaders on the team. C
Lowry and the rest of the Centaurs gave New London their first ECC loss since February of 2007. The Whalers had won 92 straight ECC games prior to the game when the Woodstock Centaurs beat them 60-48.
