WOODSTOCK — The Woodstock Athletic Department named junior goaltender #1 Baylee Johns from the ice hockey team as the Sweet Evalina’s Athlete of the Week for Dec. 23-29.
Johns stood on his head stopping 55 of 59 shots in two games helping the Centaurs to an impressive and pivotal 2-1 victory over Rockville-Bolton-Coventry-Lyman Memorial Dec. 28.
Johns has been a solid presence in goal the entire season for Woodstock Academy and he has kept the Centaurs in the game on many occasions. It took a strong performance on his part to limit the high powered Rockville-Bolton-Coventry-Lyman Memorial team to only one goal giving the Centaurs the 2-1 victory.
