DAYVILLE — Louise Taylor has earned the distinction of Country Living at Westview Commons’ Employee of the Month for November 2021.  In her role as the Activities Director at Westview Commons, she is responsible for developing and delivering a great deal of fun pastimes for the residents of the 75-unit independent and assisted living facility in Dayville. She is also Westview Commons’ Activities Director, Louise continues to fulfill her goals as the Therapeutic Recreation Director at Westview Health Care Center; having begun her creative coordination efforts there in February 2005.
She delivers a wide variety of activities for residents at the two locations; offering calendars full of events ranging between special occasions and quiet pastimes, grand concerts and intimate performances, or on-campus crafts and extracurricular field trips.  She has an associate’s degree in therapeutic recreation from Manchester Community College, and has more than 16 years of experience delivering whimsical activities, holiday celebrations, solemn observations, and engaging entertainment to seniors.  Originally hailing from Illinois and Wisconsin, Louise has lived in northeastern Connecticut since 1985.  She lived in Thompson, there, raising her two kids, Kelsey and Jack, alongside many family dogs and cats.  Currently, Louise lives in her recently remodeled antique home in Putnam with her life partner Dawn. She said she is “head-over-heels” in love with her 1-year-old grandson Jed.
She enjoys skydiving out of airplanes or riding in hot air balloons. She also enjoys traveling, ski and snowshoe.
David T. Panteleakos, executive vice president of Country Living at Westview Commons and administrator of Westview Health Care Center, said: “Louise loves what she does and it shows. She does such a wonderful job maintaining the smiles and good times for our residents by transforming our everyday lives into special memories at Westview and Westview Commons. I am so pleased with the way she continues to accomplish this mission under such challenging circumstances. The talented and creative team of therapeutic recreational professionals she has assembled to facilitate all of this fun is a wonderful example of the indomitable spirit of Westview and Louise’s strong leadership skills.”
