“We’re heading to Avery Point.” Indeed the winners of the Putnam Elks Hoop Shoot are taking the next step Jan. 4. Dennis Golden, chairman of the Hoop Shoot committee for the Elks and a past exalted ruler, said the Elks have been doing this for 14 years. “It’s good for the community. They strive to get better.” He added “It fosters participation, grit and determination.” The winners are: T. Espinosa (8-9 girls); Bryce Gallagher (8-9 boys); Bryce Espinosa (9-10); Joyce Mendor (10-11); Jaxson Stewart (10-11); Bryce Espinosa (12-13).
