PUTNAM — After a sexual assault investigation conducted by the Putnam Police Patrol and Detective Divisions in 2019, the Windham County State’s Attorney’s Office issued arrest warrants.
Arrested on first-degree sexual assault and delivery of liquor to a minor were: Austin L. Hunt, 22, 24 Wilkinson St., Apt#1, Putnam; and Tristan Vanscoy, 21, 15 Mohegan St., Putnam.
No additional arrests expected in this investigation.

PUTNAM — The Putnam Police Department is looking for anyone with information on an accident that happened about 5 p.m. Jan. 21 at the intersection of Rt. 171 and West Thompson and Harrisville roads.

Members of the Putnam Police Department, Putnam Fire Department and Putnam EMS responded to a reported motor vehicle accident with injurie.
Putnam Police Chief Christopher D. Ferace said due to the serious nature of the injuries the Connecticut State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit was requested to assist the Putnam Police Department with the investigation.
The preliminary on-scene investigation revealed that a 1998 Toyota Camry being operated by Teodor Teja, 84, of Woodstock, was traveling westbound on Rt. 171 while a 2011 Subaru Forester being operated by Andre Bouchard, 22, of Woodstock, was traveling northbound on Harrisville Road. The vehicles collided in the intersection.
Teja was taken to Day Kimball Hospital and then transferred to UMass Hospital for life-threatening injuries. Bouchard was also treated at Day Kimball Hospital for possible minor injuries.
The accident remains under investigation and no enforcement action has been taken at this time, Ferace said.

The January 2020 billing of water and/or sewer taxes for the Town of Putnam WPCA is due and payable without penalty by February 3, 2020, with the Town Revenue Collector.
Payments made after February 3, 2020, are delinquent and will be subject to an interest charge for both water and sewer at 1.5% per month or $2.00 minimum whichever is higher, according to Connecticut State Statute SEC. 12-146.
