PUTNAM — Three people were arrested on drug charges after a traffic stop by the Troop D – Quality of Life Task Force and Putnam Police Department Aug. 8.
Police stopped a 2018 Toyota Yaris rental vehicle for a motor vehicle violation and saw indicators of narcotics activity. They found bags of fentanyl and bags containing crack cocaine. They also found packaging materials and a digital scale with residue.
Arrested were: Kenneth Bingell, 31, Thompson; Katey Labbe, 30 of Webster; and Anthony Falzone, 26. All were charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell and operating a drug factory.

PUTNAM — After a lengthy investigation, members of the Putnam Police Department, on Aug. 5, arrested Howard Williams III, 50, formerly of Putnam, and charged him with first-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor.
The arrest warrant was issued after the Putnam Police Department Detective Division initiated an investigation into the reported sexual assault of a minor in August 2018. Williams III was located in Frostproof, Fla., taken into custody by Florida authorities, and held at the Polk County Correctional Facility until he was extradited back to Connecticut Aug. 5.

Volunteers sought
PUTNAM — The non-profit Hartford Marathon Foundation (HMF) will be running the RiMaConn Relay Aug. 24. It runs through 20 towns in Rhode Island, Massachusetts and Connecticut, including Putnam.
