PUTNAM — The Putnam Rotary Interact Club recently hosted a pizza party for all the volunteers who contributed to another successful Salvation Army Kettle Campaign.
Enrico Leo Rocchetti won the Ring-A-Ding Trophy for volunteering 15 hours during the campaign. Michael Rocchetti came in second place with a total of 12 volunteer hours. Woodstock Academy had most volunteer hours; 23 student volunteers totaling 68 hours and Putnam Science Academy came in second place with 16 student volunteers totaling 32 hours.
Salvation Army Director of Volunteer Services Kathy Orfitelli thanked volunteers for their service. She said since 1992 local schools from the Putnam region and members of the local community have volunteered their time to make the annual kettle campaign a success. The 2018 campaign took in over $9,500 in donations benefiting the northeastern corner of Connecticut.
Orfitelli introduced Kathi Peterson from the local Salvation Army office (inside the Daily Bread building in Putnam). Peterson said the money donated benefits local families in need.
