In honor society
WILLIMANTIC --- Fourteen students from Eastern Connecticut State University were inducted into the TriBeta Honor Society including Nadine Menard '12 of Woodstock, a biology major. The Beta Beta Beta (TriBeta) National Biology Honor Society is dedicated to improving the understanding and appreciation of biological study and extending the boundaries of human knowledge through scientific research.
Finishes project
WORCESTER --- Christian Iamartino of Thompson, a junior majoring in Physics at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), recently completed an intensive, applied research project in London for D-Term. The project was titled Zero Heroes and Bubble Day. Sarah Bober of Woodstock, a junior majoring in Actuarial Math at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), recently completed an intensive, applied research project in Bangkok for C-Term. The project was titled Health Impacts of Climate Change.
Eastern scholarships
WILLIMANTIC --- The ECSU Foundation's competitive scholarship awards are based on merit and, in many cases, unmet financial need. The scholarship process is coordinated by the Office of Institutional Advancement.
Local students honored included: Amanda Conkey '14 of Danielson, a theatre major, Conkey was awarded the John J. Delmonte, Jr. Scholarship; Brittany Miskell '12 of Woodstock, a psychology major, Miskell was awarded the Barnes and Noble Endowed Scholarship; David Musto '14 of Woodstock, a economics major, Musto was awarded the Altrusa International, Inc..

WORCESTER --- Holy NameCentral Catholic Junior/Senior High School named Lauren Merritt, a sophomore from N. Grosvenordale, to its third-quarter honor roll.
On dean' s list
BURLINGTON, Vt. --- The following local residents have been named to the Spring 2012 Dean's List at Champlain College: Sarah Bell of Woodstock, majoring in early childhood/elementary education, and Paige Merrow of Woodstock, majoring in professional writing.
Gets award
SMITHFIELD, R.I. --- Jason Fortin of Pomfret Center received two commencement awards at Bryant's Commencement May 19, 2012: Histsory/Social Sciences Department Award in Global Studies Award and the Pell Medal for U.S. History Award. He was awarded a bachelor's in global politics, magna cum laude.
