The Connecticut Alliance of YMCAs, the affinity and policy making group representing 23 independent corporate YMCA’s and its 41 branches, honored its Legislators of the Year at its annual dinner held recently.
Honored at the event were Daniel J. Rovero, representing Connecticut’s 51st Assembly District, and Eric Coleman, representing Connecticut’s 2nd Senate District.
Rovero has been a supporter of the Y’s campaign to construct a full-service YMCA facility in Putnam community. Representative Rovero is a servant leader committed to serving those in need.
“The hard work and dedication of Representative Rovero and Senator Coleman serve as models for all of us who are committed to eliminating the disparities in health and education. Their public support of our mission helps further access to YMCA programs and activities in the communities we serve,” said James Morton, president and CEO of the YMCA of Greater Hartford.
