WOODSTOCK — A multi-contraption Machine Contest, in the style of Rube Goldberg, will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 25 at Compass Rose Steampunk Festival at Roseland Cottage.
Contestants must build their machine components ahead of time and bring them to them Roseland Cottage on the day of the event. They will get a 5’x10’ outdoor space to set up the machine. Roseland provides only the physical space and the contestant must provide anything else needed for the machine.
The machine must remain set up for the duration of the event and must be able to be reset and rerun multiple times.
It is a rain or shine event. In the event of rain, contestants may bring a canopy to cover their machine. Attendees are the judges and the winners will be announced at 4:30. The categories are: Most Creative Machine, Most Steampunk Machine and Best Overall Machine.
No electricity is provided; gas powered generators and open flames are not allowed. For more information: historicnewengland.org
