$1,000+ raised
in tag sale
POMFRET — The Pomfret Proprietors raised more than $1,000 at its recent 12th annual Town Wide Tag Sale from map sales and registrations. Every year, profits are donated directly back into the community.
This year, the Proprietors gave $500 to TEEG for a “Pomfret Power Pack” program starting this fall.
This program helps food insecure families with weekend meals. This program will be sustained by Pomfret School and Christ Church.
The Proprietors is also once again helping Pomfret kids attend summer camp, donating two $250 “scholarships” for Pomfret children to attend the Hale YMCA Camp Cutler and the Windham-Tolland 4H Camp.
In the past dozen years, the Proprietors has donated more than $8,000 to worthy causes, including student scholarships, the Pomfret Times newspaper, the Pomfret Food Pantry, the People’s Harvest Community Garden and the rebuilding of the First Congregational Church and more.
