Acorn Adventure
FRANKLIN --- Step back into history with The Last Green Valley’s next Acorn Adventure, School Day Fun, 10 a.m. Co-hosted with the Ashbel Woodward Museum, we’ll visit Franklin’s one-room school house on Kahn Road. All “Acorns” will have to participate in five different games and activities just like the children of yesteryear. Park in the grassy area indicated by the Acorn Adventure signs. The one room school house does not have an address, however, 22 Kahn Road is a neighboring property. Acorn Adventures are a series of free programs for children of all ages. FRANKLIN --- The Last Green Valley will present a “Mars Party: at 8 p.m. at Ayer Farm, 44 Ayer Road. Join TLGV Ranger and NASA Solar System Ambassador Geoff McLean and Rangers Kim McLean and Steve Ayer on the Ayer’s farm for a twice-in-60,000-year event when Mars will be almost at its closest point to Earth. Also starring will be Jupiter and Saturn. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs to sit upon the Ayer's hay field. The moon will rise about 9:30 and we can examine craters along the terminus where they look 3-D in telescopes. Bring binoculars if you have them - or even a telescope.
