PUTNAM — The 34th annual Day Kimball Hospital Putnam Bank Golf Classic has raised more than $103,000, the net proceeds of which will support cancer care services, diagnostic imaging, and technology at Day Kimball Hospital, a nonprofit community hospital serving northeastern Connecticut since 1894.
Putnam Bank was the title sponsor for the event, contributing $25,000 toward Day Kimball Hospital initiatives over the next year. Other major sponsors for the event included Wheelabrator Putnam as Gold Tent Sponsor and Silver Sponsors Applied Management Systems, Inc., Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., Cerner, Inc., Jefferson Radiology, NES Health Care, Northeast Development Co., Putnam Plastics Corp., Reid & Riege, PC, and Weiss & Hale Financial. More than 120 other local and regional businesses participated in sponsoring the event to support the provision of healthcare in northeastern Connecticut.
“Day Kimball Hospital has been able to remain at the forefront of healthcare for our community because of the tremendous support that it receives from friends and community partners who step up year after year in support of hospital initiatives and annual events like this,” said DKH Director of Development Kristen Willis.
“This year’s golf tournament was no exception, and another example of the powerful community spirit and generosity that surrounds us in northeastern Connecticut and how we care for each other. We cannot thank our sponsors, participants, and volunteers enough for helping us to provide the hospital with significant funds that will so positively impact patient care,” she said.
