PUTNAM — The Putnam Business Association’s First Fridays Committee will present its third in the series of six events in the 2019 season “Made in America” from 5 to 9 p.m. July 5 all through downtown. It’s free and open to all.
The focus for July is “American Theme Parks and Animation” with a theme-park vibe on the streets of Putnam. Attendees are encouraged to dress in costume from their favorite animated movies.
The festival kicks off with Linda St. Laurent singing the National Anthem. A Brooklyn resident, Ms. St. Laurent is a Woodstock Academy senior and a member of the Woodstock Academy Chorale.
On the Main Stage in front of the Congregational Church of Putnam, DJ Sergio’s Surround Sound Entertainment will feature music from famous and familiar movies that is sure to get the crowd excited for Character Meet and Greets. Children should bring their autograph books for signatures from Belle, Shrek, The Army Guy and more!
Art Attacks will be in the street performed by The Complex at 5:30 and 8 p.m.
Quest Martial Arts performance will be at 6; their July performance features The Star Spangled Banner.
The highlight of the evening is Candice Storley: Aerialist. Storley will be performing on a 23-foot-tall pole in Union Square. Her 10-minute acts are at: 5:30, 6:10, 6:50, 7:30 and 8:10.
Union Square Entertainment: Acoustic Singer Roger Convery. Convey sings music from many genres including classic rock and hits from the 2000s.
Also in Union Square: The Worcester Bravehearts return to feature their baseball giveaways and Corn Hole. Festival Fun Zone is a kid-friendly carnival games area. Try your hand at the Balloon Pop and the Lucky Duck Pond.
The Young Marines will be in Union Square selling cotton candy and, as always, Yukon Kettle Corn will be on Main Street.
The Courthouse Bar and Grille will be highlighting “Toy Story” and offering a Kid’s Pizza Planet Meal.
More than 50 vendors will fill Main Street and Union Square, featuring many hand-made arts and crafts, candles, pet items, flowers, jewelry and much more! Community Arts is hosted by Windows Art Gallery of Putnam and Tunk City Revival of Danielson.

The Featured Artist of the evening is Elaine Turner. Elaine’s art features people, furry creatures, American characters and heroes. Elaine will be on Main Street across from The Complex. Montgomery Ward Building: Skeeter’s Toybox will be presenting a space-themed photography exhibition in the Atrium.
