KILLINGLY — A Killingly woman was arrested on drug charges June 26 in Killingly.
Brittany Dauphinais, 24, of #20 Orange St. was charged with possession of narcotics and possession of narcotics with intent to sell.
Police said, members of the Troop D – Quality of Life Task Force in an undercover car spotted a drug deal in progress in a business parking lot on lower Rt. 12 in Killingly. Troopers recognized all parties involved from previous police-related contacts and knew one of the parties as a known drug user and the other as a female that had been arrested two days prior for fentanyl and crack cocaine related charges. Police said Dauphinais had come to the business parking lot to deal fentanyl and crack cocaine and was about to sell fentanyl and crack as the troopers pulled up. Troopers found 74 bags of fentanyl, approximately 6.7 grams of crack cocaine and 1.2 grams of “Illy”, all pre-packaged for sale. Some of the bags had been labeled with the buyers names. “Illy” or “Wet” is a term used to describe tobacco or marijuana dipped in one or both of two substances: the hallucinogenic anesthetic PCP (phencyclidine or “angel dust”) and formaldehyde-based embalming fluid.
On June 24 she was arrested after a traffic stop and charged with: Possession of narcotics, misuse of plates, uninsured motor vehicle and unregistered motor vehicle.
