win State
Open
The Woodstock Academy Gymnastics team won the State Open again this year and now they look to the New England Championships March 9. The team posted a score of 146.095 which was almost 6 points better than the second-place finisher Southington who had a score of 140.350. Six points in gymnastics is considered a blow out the equivalent of a 30-point basketball win.
The top two teams out from each state qualify for New England’s and since the Lady Centaurs were first in Connecticut they will compete as a team at the New England Championships. Also three individuals from Woodstock Academy (Jackie Deary, Courtney Osbourn, and Bree Hussong) will compete for the all-around title.
