Opera: Does
the  glass
slipper fit?
Performing Arts of Northeast Connecticut treated nearly 2000 students from thirty regional schools to two opera performances May 14.
Who will the next professional opera singer from NE CT? Currently, Chris Lucier, tenor, and native of Brooklyn, CT, now holds that title. He recently brought his talents back to NE CT with his new career in opera. He is a recent MM graduate of Manhattan School of Music’s Opera Program and he attended educational performances by Performing Arts as a local student. During in-school programs at each participating school, he personally visited participating schools and gave a rousing overview of this year’s opera, Rossini’s Cinderella.
Funding for the Children’s Educational Opera and Symphony Program is primarily community-based through private donations, area businesses, grants, and local fund-raisers. Our programs enrich the quality of life and the cultural well being of our communities.
