PUTNAM — At 7 p.m. Nov. 16, The Complex Performing Arts Centre in downtown Putnam is coming to the aid of sister theater, the Bradley Playhouse.
The Complex will host a Gala Fundraising Evening to benefit The Bradley Playhouse.
In September, a section of the 112-year old theatre’s ceiling failed, prompting inspections to assess safety and consultations with experts to determine comprehensive remedies. “The ceiling project is progressing more slowly than we had hoped,” Bradley Playhouse Business Manager Patricia Green said a couple weeks ago. “We are still interviewing contractors and engineers, obtaining reports, and determining the best way to proceed. We are moving forward as quickly as is prudent to be certain that our theatre is restored in the safest manner possible while maintaining the building’s original acoustics.”
The evening will include a cocktail hour (one complimentary beverage (beer/wine) and a Taste of Putnam, featuring scrumptious hors d’oeuvres from our town’s fine restaurants. The night continues with performances by many fabulous artists, live and silent auctions, raffles, and desert.
The entire community is coming together in this effort to raise money to help with the necessary repairs at The Bradley Playhouse so they may be up and running again soon! The Bradley has been a staple in Putnam for as long as we all can remember… it is now our time to come together in support of this local institution.
$50 per person includes performances, one complimentary beer or wine, the taste of Putnam, dessert, auctions, fun and friends and ALL proceeds benefit The Bradley Playhouse so they can repair their ceiling. Only 100 tickets available. Call The Complex at 963-7170 for tickets.
