DAR Meeting
PLAINFIELD --- The Deborah Avery Putnam Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, will hold its chapter meeting at 6:30 p.m. at the Plainfield Senior Center. History Program
POMFRET --- The Pomfret Public Library will present "Pomfret: Through the Years - 300 years of History of Pomfret" at 7 p.m. at the library. Author Walter Hinchman, who serves as the town historian, compiled a book on Pomfret's history. All proceeds from the book will support the work of the Pomfret Historical Society. Fund-raiser
PUTNAM --- The Complex Performing Arts Centre on Front Street will host a Gala Fund-raising Evening at 7 p.m. to benefit fellow community theatre, The Bradley Playhouse. The evening will include a cocktail hour (one complimentary beverage (beer/wine) and a Taste of Putnam, featuring scrumptious hors d’ouerves from our town’s fine eateries. The night continues with performances by many fabulous performing artists, live and silent auctions, drawings, and dessert. $50 per person. Only 100 tickets available. www.thecpac.org

Film Festival
POMFRET --- Pomfret School will host The Short Short Story Film Festival, a unique one-day screening of live-action and animated films by directors worldwide who tell their stories in under six minutes, at 7 p.m. in Hard Auditorium Free to Pomfret students and faculty; general admission for both programs (Heartstrings and Headtrip) is $10.
