Art Exhibit

PUTNAM --- The Pomfret School Art Exhibit "Lindsay Lehmann - Photography by Pomfret Students and Faculty," will run through March 18 at the Silver Circle Gallery in downtown Putnam.

‘Chicago’

WOODSTOCK --- Drama students at Hyde School will perform Samuel French’s Chicago at 8 p.m. Feb. 21 and Feb. 27 in the Hyde School Cultural Center.  The show is free (although donations will be accepted and refreshments sold), and is open to the public on both evenings.

Italian Dinner Cabaret

PUTNAM --- The Putnam High School Music Department will hold an Italian Dinner Cabaret from 5 to 7 p.m. in the PHS cafeteria. 'Odd Couple'

PUTNAM --- The Bradley Playhouse will present "The Odd Couple - Female Version" at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 28, and March 1 and 8 and at 2 p.m. March 2 and 9. Tickets: 860-928-7887.

Train Show

CHESHIRE --- The Cheshire High School Band Parents Association will present a train show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the school on Rt. 10. $6 for adults; under 10 admitted free. 203-265-7527.

 

Concert

WILLIMANTIC --- The Willimantic Orchestra will present its free Winter Concert, “And Ne’er the Twain Shall Meet,” at  3 p.m. at Shafer Auditorium, ECSU. Donations welcomed. 860.429.0864.

 

Art March Madness

POMFRET --- The Connecticut  Audubon Society Center at Pomfret on Day Road will present March Madness beginning at 1 p.m. with “Meet Skitur the Quill Pig - aka a live porcupine!” and at 2 p.m. the opening reception for two art exhibits: “Welcoming Spring”, a watercolor exhibition by Chaplin resident Susan Peifer, and “Pomfret’s 300th”, a student exhibition showcasing talent from the Pomfret Community School.  860-928-4948.

Senior Potluck

POMFRET CENTER --- The Pomfret Senior Association will have a potluck appetizers meeting at noon at the Pomfret Senior Center on Mashamoquet Road. Bring appetizer and a recipe to share or a $5 donations. All Pomfret seniors 50 or older welcome.

Art Program

POMFRET CENTER --- The Northeast CT Art Group will present Normand Chartier speaking about his life in painting, and working on Sesame Street project at 6:30 p.m. at the Grassland Audubon center on Day Road. Free. All welcome.

Day of Prayer

DANIELSON --- World Day of Prayer will be held at 1 p.m. in the Community Room of Maple Courts on Upper Maple Street. Join men and women in more than 170 countries and regions in celebrating World Day of Prayer. Handicapped accessible. (860) 928-0308.

 

Teen Weekend

POMFRET --- Winter Teen Weekend will be held from 5:30 p.m. March 7 through 9:30 a.m. March 9 at the Windham-Tolland 4-H Camp on Taft Pond Road. $50. Bring a friend that has not been to camp or teen weekend and one of you can come for $30.  Preregistration required by Feb. 28. Comedy Fund-raiser

WOODSTOCK --- The Grid Iron Committee will present “A Night On The Town” with dinner, comedy, dancing and more from 7 p.m. to midnight at the Knights of Columbus Hall. $35. 928-5431.

 

Corned Beef

POMFRET --- The Christ Church Episcopal Church on Routes 169/44 (across from Rectory School), is serving a Corned Beef Dinner from 5:30-7 p.m. $10/adults, $5/children. Eat in or takeout. Fund-raiser for Youth Program Pilgrimage.

‘Irish Night’ Fund-raiser

WOODSTOCK --- The United Services’ 13th annual Irish Night fund-raiser will be held at the Inn at Woodstock Hill. Benefits United Services’ Grandparents Raising Grandchildren Support Groups throughout northeast Connecticut. $40. 774-2020. Sponsors also sought.
