Credit union
expands
mortgage lineup
GROTON — Charter Oak Federal Credit Union is expanding its mortgage lineup to include CHFA mortgages, which help make homeownership affordable for first-time homebuyers.
“These new CHFA mortgages can make the prospect of owning a home a reality for many residents in eastern Connecticut,” said Brian A. Orenstein, Charter Oak’s CEO. “CHFA loans eliminate the need for a large down payment, so the combination of today’s low mortgage rates and CHFA’s low down payments really does create a win-win opportunity for homebuyers.”
Charter Oak, which is eastern Connecticut’s No. 1 mortgage lender for four consecutive years and has branches in Putnam and Dayville, is offering CHFA loans through the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority.
