PUTNAM — The Putnam Board of Education announced that Patricia “Tricia” George is Putnam’s 2015 Teacher of the Year.
George has a bachelor’s degree from North Park College where she majored in elementary education and Spanish. Currently she is working on a master’s from the University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford. Her degree will be in autism and applied behavior analysis.
She has been part of the Putnam School family for the past seven years. She started as a paraprofessional at Putnam Elementary School in 2007. In
2008, she moved to a third grade classroom position. Most recently, she has served as a special education instructor at Putnam Elementary School. She lives in Putnam with her family.
Superintendent William Hull said, “Tricia is a wonderful example of the talented instructors we have in Putnam. She is an outstanding classroom teacher. During the last two years she has been responsible for creating a program and classroom which excels at servicing our students in a unique manner. The entire district is proud to have Tricia represent us.”
