PUTNAM — The Interfaith Human Services of Putnam - Diaper Bank of NECT will host its Third Annual Celebrity Bartenders Night fund-raiser from 5 to 9 p.m. Feb. 19 at Winners at J.D. Cooper’s on Park Road.
The Diaper Bank of NECT is the only one of its kind in our area - currently serving more than 250 children and providing more than 100,000 diapers a year. Admission is free but donations of diapers and wipes or monetary contributions are appreciated!

David Carter, Donna Bessette, and The Little Sisters of Hoboken; 6:45 to 7:15 p.m., “Sweet Lullabies” featuring Ted Reynolds, Tim Deary, Andre Bessette, and Donna Bessette; 7:15 to 7:45 p.m., “Safety Seat Inspectors” featuring Bob Campbell, Norm Perron, Lisa Morissette, and Mike Stewart; 7:45 to 8:15 p.m., “Toy Story” featuring Jeff Rawson, Jeff Bousquet, Earl Rosebrooks, and Gary Osbrey; 8:15 to 9 p.m., “DKH Delivers” featuring Dr. Marc Cerrone, Megin Dalton, Annette Konicki, and Donald St. Onge.
Last year approximately $2,225 in tips was raised for the diaper bank. Local businesses donate gift cards, baskets, weekend getaways and more to help benefit the fund-raiser. With the addition of $920 in Bottle Board (drawing ticket) funds, last year’s event for the Diaper Bank of NECT raised more than $3,100.
Having access to a reliable supply of diapers can present an economic challenge for many families. Diapers are not covered by food stamps (SNAP), WIC or other usual means of assistance. While often recommended as a less expensive and greener alternative, many childcare facilities will not accept youngsters in cloth diapers.
