‘Touring’ Exhibit
WOODSTOCK --- Historic New England’s new exhibit “Touring New England, 1820 – 1970” opens today and runs through Oct. 15 at  Roseland Cottage, in the Carriage Barn. It explores why the region’s natural and built environments have been tourist destinations for centuries. The exhibit touches on the distinct characteristics of each New England state: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont.  Free.

Experience Eastford
EASTFORD --- Experience Eastford, a town-wide event, will be held today. It will include a Heritage Day event sponsored by the Town from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Eastford Elementary School, a Vintage Car Show at Bowen's Garage, a Craft Fair at Coriander Café, an afternoon music event at the Frog Rock, an Open House and Touch-a-Truck at the Eastford Independent Fire Company, a Sawmill demonstration by Wood'n Horse Farm at Eastford Building Supply, a Frog Jump Contest, Cake Walk, Cook Out and Band Concert at the Congregational Church of Eastford starting at 5 p.m. and an Outdoor Movie Fund-raiser at the school starting at dusk. Free. Rain or shine.
