The news coming out of the basketball office of Putnam Science Academy gets more impressive and surprising with each recruit the Mustangs will put on the hardwood for the upcoming 2015-2016 season.
The latest recruit to indicate he’ll become a Mustang in September is Sedee Keita from Philadelphia. The 6-foot, 10-inch, 225-pound big man is transferring to Putnam Science Academy from 22-Feet Academy in South Carolina. He’ll be a senior at PSA.
Keita enjoyed a great season last year at 22-Feet Academy averaging 14 points and nine rebounds per game to go with three blocks per contest for Coach Ryan Schmidt.
“Sedee is a true big man and fills our need to control the block on both offense and defense. He has all the tools to be a very special player for years to come at all levels,” said Mustangs basketball coach Tom Espinosa.
Although still a young man Keita has received feelers and offers from more than 35 NCAA Division I schools. Among his suitors are Syracuse, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Georgia, Memphis, Louisiana State University, Clemson, Mississippi State, Auburn, UNLV, Villanova, Penn State, Tennessee, Providence College and University of South Carolina.
