WOODSTOCK — First Selectman, Allan D. Walker Jr., met with the captains and one coach of the Woodstock Middle School Girls’ Basketball team to accept a generous donation of nonperishable food items for TEEG.
Co-captains Hallie Saracina and Rachel Lambert said, “At first, girls were motivated to participate because each donation excused the player from sprints during practices,” said Lambert. “But we’re a competitive team, and most of us just did the sprints anyway because we want to win games!”
Saracina said, “We’re off to a great start this season.  The varsity team is 3-1, and we’re 2-0 for our conference!”
Coach Terry Creedon said, “I am so proud of the girls on this team.
"Members of the varsity and JV teams are all hard workers and great people. I’m excited to see how this season progresses!”
Walker said, “Your generosity will make a big difference in our community. Thank you for making the effort to help others!”
