The people of The First Congregational Church of Pomfret are eagerly anticipating moving into their new church home in October 2016. After losing their classic 1832 building to a fire Dec. 7, 2013, parishioners initiated a building campaign to rebuild in the same location on Pomfret Hill. The exterior of the new structure reflects the beloved old building and the interior will be brightly lit, comfortable and “up to code”. With an unusually mild winter, the foundation has been poured and construction of the first floor is underway. Pastor Thomas Crumb said he and the people of FCCP sincerely thank the community for their prayers and support.
