Putnam Science Academy recently announced the signing of Hartford Weaver High School graduate KeAndre Fair for the upcoming 2015-2016 basketball season.  The 6-foot, 2-inch and 180-pound Fair, who was on the National Honor Society for four years at Weaver, comes to Putnam with outstanding credentials.  He’ll be admitted as a post graduate student.
During his four years at Weaver, Fair led his teams into four State championship games, culminating in the Class M State Championship in 2015.  That season the Hartford Courant named him the Player-of-the-Year.  Weaver also captured two Connecticut Capital Conference titles during his four years.
“KeAndre’s a game tested player who’s been in big game situations during his high school career.  He brings court maturity to our team.  He’s a prolific scorer who can score going to the hoop as well as from beyond the arc,” said coach Tom Espinosa.
Fair holds the record at Weaver for games played with 110 and is also the school’s all-time leading scorer with 2,005 points.  He also leaves Weaver as the school’s top three-point leader with 210 from beyond the arc.  As a freshman he scored a career high 44 points in a game against Gilbert.
The Connecticut High School Coaches Association named him an All State played in all four years at Weaver.  He’s a two-time New Haven Register All-State player and a three-time All-CCC performer.
“We’re pleased that KeAndre has chosen to spend the year at Putnam Science Academy.  His presence is a win-win situation for him and our school,” said Espinosa.
Fair joins returnees Hamidou Diallo, Eric Ayala, Darnell Brodie, Jaheam Cornwall, Tyreek Perkins and Kevin Smith.
