pitchers’ duel

The Centaurs matched off against the Saints in a battle held at Dodd Stadium. This game was a true pitchers’ duel as Alden Brennan was on the Hill for Woodstock and Bryan Guetens had the ball for the Saints. Woodstock won, 2-1. Both pitchers threw nine innings and only giving up one earned run on the game, but Alden Brennan struck out five batters, while Bryan Guetens had eight on the day. The game was won by the Centaurs on an error where Eric Preston came across the plate to win the game. Woodstock moves to their seventh win on the season, whereas St. Bernard slips to 4-9 on the year.

Ellis Tech 26

Tourtellotte 6

The Ellis Tech Eagles matched up against the Tigers and had the runs being put on the board continuously through the game as the Eagles were led by Brett Ravanelle who drove in five runs to go with the four runs batted in by Corey Golden as the Eagles won their eleventh game on the year and have a 11-4 record. Two of the six runs for Tourtellotte (1-11) came off the bat of Will McGlynn.

Marianapolis 11

St. Thomas More 0

The Golden Knights gave the ball to JT Mullins who pitched a complete game and struck out nine batters for the Marianapolis team from the mound, while the bats were in effect as Colby Pion, Peter Ruzzo, Ryan Hourigan all totaled two hits for the Knights who pick up their second win on the season in five games.

The Panthers took on the Tigers on their home field in local matchup as the Panthers came into the game with a lot of momentum as they rallied behind the two doubles that were hit by Izaiah Thompson, while Mike Bates had a double which lead to three runs, and Kegan Marcoux also drove in two runs for Plainfield as they won the game 14-5 and the panthers moved to their ninth win this season and 6-1 in ECC Div. 3 play. The Tigers were led by Joe Bogoslofski who drove in two runs for Tourtellotte.  

Putnam 3

The Clippers lost to the Whalers in Thursdays non-conference away matchup as they fell by a score of 20-3. The Clippers have been playing good baseball with still have five wins on the season looking to continue conference lead as they remain they top of the rank in CSC East. The Clippers have dropped the last two game and move record to 6-6 on the season. 

Putnam 2

The Clippers traveled to play ECC powerhouse Plainfield Panthers at their place in the matchup. The Clippers came off a big division game and Panthers have been playing strong all season, and the Panthers jumped out to an early lead over the Clippers and then paced out to a 9-2 victory over Putnam. Mitchel Barylski and Zach Cutler drove in runs for Putnam (6-5), which had its five-game winning streak snapped. The Clippers move to 6-5 on the season as Plainfield moved to an 8-4 record. 

Woodstock 6

Ledyard 3

The Centaurs took away another victory on the season as they were led by Patrick Houlihan and Jared Bouten who each contributed a pair of hits and RBIs to Woodstock’s win. Patrick Houlihan also struck out three batters in seven innings of work to earn the win for the Centaurs who are (6-5) on the season. Max Ebdon doubled and James Laconico had two hits in three trips to the plate with an RBI for the Colonels who slip to (7-6).
