Legal Notice is hereby given to the taxpayers of the Town and Fire District of Pomfret that the Supplemental Motor Vehicle and Second Installment of Real Estate and Personal Property tax bills on the Grand List of October 1, 2016, are DUE AND PAYABLE January 1 , 2018.  The last day to pay without penalty is February 1, 2018.
Per State Statute, interest will be charged at 18% annually (1.5% per month), with a minimum charge of $2.00 per each entity (Town and Fire are separate entities) on all delinquent payments postmarked February 2, 2018 or later.
Make all checks payable to Pomfret Tax Collector and mail to:  Pomfret Tax Collector, 5 Haven
Road, Pomfret Center, CT 06259.  If a receipt is desired, please enclose a stamped, self­
addressed envelope.  For more information or to pay online, go to www.pomfretct.gov.
Tax Office Hours are:  Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Wednesday
8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Town Hall is closed on Fridays.  If you have any questions, please call 860-974-0394.

The second installment of taxes, due to the Town of Putnam, Special Service District, East Putnam Fire District, and West Putnam District on the Grand List of October 1, 2016, is due and payable on January 1, 2018, through February 1, 2018.
Payments made after February 1, 2018, will be subject to an interest charge of 3% (1½% per month) or $2.00 minimum per Town and $2.00 minimum per District (where applicable), whichever is higher, according to Connecticut State Statute, SEC. 12-146.
 Mail must be postmarked no later than  February 1, 2018, to avoid interest charges. Current bills may be paid online at www.putnamct.us
Supplemental Motor Vehicle bills will be due in full during January. Supplemental Motor Vehicle bills are for vehicles registered between October 2, 2016, and July 31, 2017.

The January 2018 billing of water and/or sewer taxes for the Town of Putnam WPCA is due and payable on January 1, 2018, through February 1, 2018, without penalty.
Payments made after February 1, 2018, will be subject to an interest charge for both water and sewer of 3% (1.5% per month) or $2.00 minimum whichever is higher, according to Connecticut State Statute SEC. 12-146.

A certified list of 10 Democratic party-endorsed candidates for the Town of Eastford for election as Members of the Town committee At-Large is on file in my office at 16 Westford Road, Eastford, Connecticut, and copies are available for public distribution.  The number of Town Committee Members to be elected, under party rules, is 15.

Notice is hereby given that I failed to receive within the time limited in S 9-391 of the General Statutes the certifications of the names of any persons as party-endorsed candidates of the Democratic Party for election as members of the town committee of said party in the Town of Putnam.
The number of town committee members to be elected, under party rules is 35.
Notice is also hereby given that a primary will be held on March 6, 2018, if more than one petition containing at least 9 candidacies (which is at least 25% of the number of town committee members to be elected by such party in the municipality) are filed in accordance with SS9-382 – 9-450, inclusive, of the General Statutes by person whose names appear upon the last completed enrollment list of said party; provided that total number or such candidacies exceeds the number to be elected to said town committee.  A petition containing the required number of signatures must be filed not later than 4:00 p.m. of January 31, 2018.
