The #1 ranked Putnam Science Academy Mustangs continued to play dominant basketball going 3-0 last week. After beating Our Savior Lutheran at home 95-79, the Mustangs went on the road to compete against a tough St. Patrick School out of New Jersey winning 76-66 at the Basketbull Hoopfest. PSA then faced Navy Prep at home and won 87-76 after Tyson Etienne propelled Putnam Science with 24 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists. PSA is 15-0 and have 3 games upcoming this week before winter break.
The Putnam Science Academy Mustangs started off the last week with a win over Our Savior Lutheran 79-71 thanks to a dominant game by Alpha Diallo! Diallo led the Mustangs with 10 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists in a close win at home. PSA would then drop a close contest to Mitchell College 73-69 after Justin Rodriguez and Tyler Henry combined for 40 points. The Mustangs then returned home for a Saturday afternoon contest vs Montmorency College (Canada) but couldn’t hang on to a halftime lead falling 84-77 behind another solid performance from Justin Rodriguez (22 points). The Mustangs are now 7-4.
The Varsity 2 boys’ basketball team had a successful week going 2-1 with their lone loss coming to a talented Rectory team. Zach Boulay scored a game-high 21 points in a win
