Indoor track

The season isn’t over yet for one Woodstock Academy indoor track athlete.

Centaurs’ junior Julia Theriaque qualified for the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference State Open indoor track championship this weekend in New Haven by finishing in a tie for third in the high jump at the Class L state championship Feb. 8. Theriaque cleared the bar at 4 feet, 10 inches at the Floyd Little Athletic Center to qualify for the Open.

Senior Ivy Gelhaus just missed making the Open.

She finished with a personal best time of 1:46.19 to finish fifth the Class L state championship. She missed out on qualifying for the Open by one second.

Aochen Li ran her fastest time of the season in the 55-meter hurdles, 10.01 seconds, to place 15th in Class L.

Danylo Ntamwemizi also recorded a personal best for the season.

The senior threw the shotput 41- 1.75, narrowly missing the finals, and finishing ninth in the Class M boys’ indoor track championship Feb. 9 at the Floyd Little Athletic Center.
