Arc Emporium
reopens its doors
WOODSTOCK — The Emporium, an upscale thrift store on Rt. 171, reopened Oct. 5.
One of The Arc Eastern Connecticut’s micro-enterprises, The Emporium provides people with intellectual and developmental disabilities the skills they can use to secure competitive employment with area businesses.
“We’re so happy to be able to finally re-open again,” said Jennifer Ricci, director of Community Enterprise at The Arc. “Our employees are eager to get back to work, and while we were closed due to the pandemic, we were able to still accept some really great donated items, which we’ll have ready for sale, along with hundreds of other beautiful things.”
The Emporium will currently be allowing five people in at a time, and only one member of a family at a time. Temperatures will be taken and face masks must be worn while in the store.
