NOW is beneficiary of store's
Community Bag program
PUTNAM — Northeast Opportunities for Wellness, Inc. (NOW) has been selected as a beneficiary of the Stop & Shop Community Bag Program for the month of November.
The Stop & Shop Community Bag Program, which launched in May 2019, is a reusable bag program that facilitates community support with the goal to make a difference in the communities where shoppers live and work.
NOW was selected as the November beneficiary of the program by the store leadership at the Stop & Shop on Providence Pike (Rt. 44).
NOW will receive a $1 donation every time the $2.50 reusable Community Bag is purchased at the Putnam store during November, unless otherwise directed by the customer through the Giving Tag attached to the bag.
“NOW is very excited to be chosen for the Community Bag program,” said Sarah Wolfburg, NOW executive director. “This has been a difficult year for fundraising and we are grateful to have a new way to raise funds and awareness for our youth wellness programs and scholarships. We have some great events planned for the winter months and have engaged in new partnerships and programs to promote wellness to children in the 10-town area and the funds from the Community Bag program will be a big help.”
Northeast Opportunities for Wellness, Inc. is a non-profit human service organization dedicated to the promotion of youth wellness. NOW provides education in nutrition, and instruction in fitness and sports, regardless of family access to financial resources.
