after car hits pole
PUTNAM — A Webster man was cited for reckless driving after his car hit a utility pole April 21. Putnam Police said Church Street should reopen later this morning or early afternoon today after Eversource finishes repairing the snapped pole.
Putnam Police Department Captain Justin Lussier said Kenneth Lippe, 21, of 98 N. Main St., Webster, received a summons for reckless driving, failure to maintain his lane and unsafe tires after he hit a utility pole near 356 Church St.  Police determined Lippe was driving at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his car.
Lippe and his passenger, Brianna Morris, 20,  of Dudley,  were taken to Day Kimball Hospital for non-life threatening injuries by Putnam EMS and a mutual aid ambulance from Woodstock EMS.
Putnam Fire Department also responded to the scene.
