PUTNAM — Putnam Police Officers Nicholas E. Ustin and Roy D. Hicks graduated July 22 from the 371st Training Class the POSTC Connecticut Police Academy after 28 weeks of basic training. Officers Ustin and Hicks were among a class of 74 officers from municipal and university police departments across the state who graduated in a ceremony held at Maloney High School in Meriden.
Officer Ustin and Officer Hicks will now move onto a field training phase where they will be assigned to a Field Training Officer for the next 12 weeks. Then they will be assigned to the department’s Patrol Division.
