Emily A. Allard
PUTNAM — Emily A. Allard, 83, of Church Street went to her Lord on Aug. 21, 2021. She was born Feb. 26, 1938, in Niantic, daughter of the late James H. and Emily (Biltcliff) Staplins.
She grew up in Franklin and went to the local grammar school and graduated from Norwich Free Academy. She then went on to School of Hairdressing in 1958.
She married Richard O. Allard of Putnam Feb. 22, 1960. She worked as a hairdresser and later became a homemaker for Day Kimball Homemakers.
She leaves her husband of 61 years Richard O. Allard of Putnam; her son Richard A. Allard (Pam) of St. Johnsbury, Vt., her daughter Michelle Sabolesky and her fiancé J. R. Rousseau of Putnam; grandchildren William Allard (Brittany) and great-grandson Malika of Woodstock and granddaughter Tessa Allard and great-grandsons Liam and Jackson of Ludlow, Mass.
A Graveside Service was Aug. 27 in St. Mary Cemetery, Putnam. Donations: Emily Allard Memorial Fund, c/o Centreville Bank, 40 Main St., Putnam, CT 06260. Smith and Walker Funeral Home, 148 Grove St., Putnam.
